2-D Games On 3-D Systems

More than likely, you're here at the OPCFG because - like me - you're a fan of classic 2-D games. As you've surely noticed, though, 2-D games on consoles are becoming a thing of the past (which is one of the reasons that the OPCFG was founded). Sure, you could always turn to the GameBoy Advance for your 2-D fix, which is just fine, but sometime you just want to kick back in a big, soft chair and play games on your TV, rather than squinting at a tiny screen - of course, you could get a GameBoy Advance Player for the GameCube. Besides, what if you don't have a GBA or a GC?

2-D games haven't vanished completely yet from consoles. As time goes on, it gets harder and harder to find them, unless you decide to go completely retro. That's just fine, of course - however, a lot of us want to go forward, while at the same time holding onto our roots. Keeping that in mind, what I've done here (thanks to Swordlord for the idea) is attempt to compile a listing of every 2-D game (categorized by genre) created for just about every console to come down the pike since 1995. Just click on the console name below to see what has already been compiled, and if you notice games that are missing (which there most definitely are), then go ahead and email me with the titles and I'll add them to their respective sections.

if you see a game that has two titles, separated by a slash, the title on the left is the Japanese title, and the title on the right in the U.S. title
