7/15/08 8:00 A.M. EST (latest update today) - Welcome to the next incarnation of the OPCFG! To kick things off, there are six reviews immediately available for you to read: one from Allen Smithee, one from Kurt Kalata and the rest from me. Find them in the SNES, PS1 and PS2 sections. As I mentioned on the front page, the OPCFG needs your reviews to grow. So if you'd like to contribute, start writing - but don't forget to follow the review submission guidelines. The site is still being worked on, so don't be surprised if some things change as time goes on.
For those of you unfamiliar with the OPCFG, the acronym stands for "The Organization for the Preservation of Classic Forms of Gaming" (long winded, I know). Between 1998 and 2006 I concentrated on 2D games and imports. These found their way into various reviews and special features articles on the original site (now archived on Kurt Kalata's Hardcore Gaming 101. I also had a listing of my personal top 100 favorite games and various sublists, and an import store directory. None of this stuff will be found on the new OPCFG. I felt that I'd spread myself too thin with the original site, and keeping up with it all just got to be too much of a hassle to me, which is why I shut it down.
I hope you enjoy the new site, and stick with us as we'll be growing as time goes by. If you want to discuss any of the reviews, just head on over to the forum, register (registration is free) and start posting. And if you happen to know of any compilations I've missed, just drop me a line and let me know.
