Brazilian SMS Games!

The Sega Master System. Officially considered dead in the U.S. by 1991, it remained quite popular overseas, especially in Europe and Brazil. In fact, it was being produced right up until 1997 in Brazil. Until recently, people outside of Brazil had very little knowledge of what was released for the SMS there, but recently more and more Brazilian SMS games have been popping up on eBay. Because of this, I've been able to gather several cover shots of a lot of unreleased (well, unreleased outside of Brazil, anyway) SMS games.

Here's the collection of pics I've been able to gather so far. Since my language ability is limited to English, a little German and a little Japanese, I'm unsure what some of these titles translate into. If anyone can help with the translations, or game descriptions, or has any more pictures to contribute, please let me know!

Update (1/8/02) - Thanks to Freddy Hajas, I now have translations and descriptions for some of the Brazilian-only titles. The translations and descriptions can be found next to and beneath the picture links. Thanks Freddy!

Update (1/16/02) - I've added a few new cover shots, and thanks to the Sega Master System Overseas Games List, I've been able to find out exactly what a few of the games here actually are. Take a look:

Geraldinho - Modified version of Teddy Boy

Sapo Xule O Mestre Du Kung Fu - Modified version of Kung Fu Kid

Sapo Xule S.O.S. Lagoa Poluida - Modified version of Astro Warrior

Turma da Monica em: O Resgate - Modified version of Wonder Boy 3: the Dragon's Trap

Update (10/8/02) - A fellow by the name of Gustavo Galembeck sent me the following new info about some of the games:

- The game "Sapo Xule S.O.S. Lagoa Poluida" is a modified version of Psycho Fox, not Astro Warrior.

- There are 2 other modified games that you didn't put in the page:

"Chapolim vs Drácula: um duelo assutador"
(Chapolim vs Dracula: a scary duel)

This game is a modified version of Ghost House. Chapolim is the main character from a Mexican TV series.

"Mônica no Castelo do Dragão"
(Mônica in the Dragon's Castle)

This is Wonder Boy in Monster Land, with the same caracters of the Modified version of WB III. This was the first modified game released here (3rd or 4th quarter of 1991).
